Master Machine Learning and Data Mining (parcours international)
Le parcours international de la formation Machine Learning and Data Mining (MLDM) des Universités de
Saint-Etienne (France) et d'Alicante (Espagne) ouvrira à partir de septembre 2013.
Given their complementary expertise in the fields of Machine Learning
and Data Mining, the
Universities of Saint-Etienne (France) and Alicante (Spain) offer a new two-year double Master diploma,
called Master MLDM.
The Master MLDM is based on the
«Web Intelligence» Master program existing on the
French side from the collaboration between the Faculty
of Science and Technology of University Jean Monnet (UJM) and the
“Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Etienne”.
On the Spanish side, it is based on the Master in «Computer Technologies» of
University of Alicante (UA).
The Master MLDM, starting in September 2013,
results in the strong scientific collaborations established for many years between the
Hubert Curien Laboratory
at UJM and the Department of Software and Computing Systems,
especially in the context of European networks of excellence.
MLDM will provide an original scientific position in Europe on problems related to
pattern recognition, machine learning, classification,
modeling, knowledge extraction and data mining. These
issues have a strong employability potential for students trained in the field of modeling,
prediction or decision support, as well as in the area of the Web,
image and video processing, health informatics, computer music or
Courses are taught in English and are structured according to the European Credit Transfer System with
120 credits over four semesters of full-time studies.
Applicants with at least a BSc degree level (180 ECTS) or equivalent, in computer science,
statistics, mathematics or equivalent are invited to apply. International students’ applications are
welcome and the selection committee will assess the equivalence for admission to the Master MLDM.
